Interview started by listening about the company and all of the benefits (mind you this is a consulting role - not an FTE). The Interviewer admitted she did not fully understand what the Hiring Manager needed for the role and was doing her best to fill it, and asked me to explain my background. When I did so she then asked me my hourly rate. When I informed her of my rate she laughed and said they couldn't pay that. When I said, okay, well how far off are we she said "you are our aspirational candidate, and this is more a specialist level, at most a manager level role", I was a Director Level, which was clear from my CV. I said then I should not have been asked in to interview and she said it was clear I was not someone who "would do the work". She was very unprofessional and I wish there was a way to report her to the company, it was Sage who wasted my time, claimed I wouldn't do the required work and and called me "aspirational" not the other way around.
