I dodged a bullet. I applied for the job on LinkedIn and received an email from HR to connect. I provided my availability and received a response with a link to the video interview. When I joined, the HR contact was not on. Instead, it was two employees. I had no idea who they were. I thought the initial screener was with HR. It did not say anything about these two employees in the email or the calendar invite. I didn’t say anything to the employees. The employees grilled me. They had their questions written out and did not ask any questions based on my responses. This is likely a prequel to what it’s like to work there.
I applied online. I interviewed at SPM Communications (Dallas, TX) in Sep 2024
Interview
They responded to my resume within 1 business day and set up a scheduled interview with two team members. Interview went great, I also sent a follow up email afterwards but just like my previous two times interviewing them they seem to go ghost and don't respond anymore.

Question 1
What was one thing I learned or had to take away from my time off of work while working on my MBA?
Beware of this company. The interview reviews from 2019-2022 are accurate, contrary to what SPM might say for damage control.
I responded to the job posting on their website via email (as requested). Someone responded a few days later and set up an interview.
The first interview went great (or so I thought). At the end of the interview, they told me they'd follow up with next steps. Shortly after, I received confirmation for another round.
The second round, which involved 4 employees, also went great (or so I thought). They ended with the same song and dance. "[Employee Name] will follow up with next steps."
I never did hear back from them. I found out that I didn't get the job when one of the employees who interviewed me posted that SPM was looking for an apprentice. Right after our interview.
Turns out, they weren't looking for a current student or recent graduate with minimal experience. They didn't genuinely want to invest in someone by providing hands-on training. They wanted someone with close to 10 years of experience for an entry-level job.
5 years and they're still doing applicants dirty. I'm just glad I never had to show up to the office like the "liars" of the past.
We appreciate your feedback and apologize deeply if you were not contacted in a timely fashion when we decided to go with another candidate. We are committed to fairness and courtesy in the hiring process, and have put in additional measures to ensure we follow up with interviewees as soon as a hiring decision is made. We can also assure you that the apprentice we hired was a recent college graduate, not someone with extensive experience.
