      Payroll Specialist Interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at SPECTRAFORCE in Jan 2017

      Interview

I saw the posting online and applied. I was contacted in the following week by a recruiter. The caller id showed that the caller was calling from NC but I've worked offshore before and called the United States and the caller id showed I was here when I was not. Anyway his signature in his email showed India so I suspect that is where he was calling from. He came off a bit pushy, as if he was pressed for time. He discussed my resume as it relates to my past work experience after which he proceeded to send me an email for me to confirm a 'form' and forward to the customer (hiring company). What I HATE about the experience is that he requested that I send him proof that I am authorized to work in the United States. I was very skeptical about his request and did some research afterwards which stated that "employers cannot ask to see your employment authorization documents before hiring you or before you complete Form I-9". I don't know if it's because he is in India he may not be aware of this but it made me very uncomfortable. In my opinion, if you have offshore employees representing the US, management should ensure that they are aware of what is acceptable from what isn't. I felt almost as if he was discriminating against me and I would advise the company to have the matter address to avoid future reoccurrence.
