I applied online. I interviewed at SIM Architects (Lafayette, CA) in May 2026
Interview
Pretty straightforward. More a discussion than interrogation. Felt very easy and comfortable. Hit it off right away. Asked about various levels of expertise in certain programs. Seemed engaged and interested in the answers.

Question 1
What is your sweet spot in terms of project types and firm size?
Go through my portfolio very quickly and being asked about prior work experience in housing and school.
Do a Revit test in the office. Being asked to perform some basic modeling work, create sheets and views. The Revit is straight out of box; there's no template to use, so you need to use the generic ones or make your own elements.
