I applied on LinkedIn, got an interview 3 weeks later, and received a job offer about a month after that. I requested the interview to be done on Microsoft Teams due to my location from the office and thankfully they were able to accommodate that. The interview itself was about 1.5 hours long, consisted of 20-minute-long one-on-one meetings with four different engineers. It started with the usual “tell me about yourself” and “why do you want to work here?”, then going over my resume and past experiences in more detail while the engineers told me more about the company and the type of work they do. I also had a few minutes at the end of each meeting to ask them questions. Everyone I met with was very nice and friendly which made for a low-stress interview process. They seemed genuinely interested in getting to know you as a person, and you getting to know them. Really only a couple technical questions came up that were related to experiences I had on my resume, and those were easy to answer. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. My only critique is I do wish I had a second interview with HR before receiving an offer. There wasn’t much discussion about compensation, benefits, work schedule, travel expectations, training period, or start date until after the offer was made. I would’ve liked to know these things earlier, but it didn’t feel appropriate to bring it up during the first interview with the engineers. Thankfully the HR representative I got in touch with after receiving my offer letter was very quick to respond and answer all my questions, even gave me extra time to consider the offer, which I was very grateful for. Unfortunately, I ultimately decided to decline due to concerns about relocation costs (they do offer relocation assistance, but it’s not much), but I hope in the future I will have another opportunity to join the company!
