Several rounds of interview with department and branch leadership, followed by assurance an offer would be coming based on internal need for headcount. After following up for months, department leadership informed me that their national management would not approve additional budget for this role and they would not be making a hire. Very disappointing to have applied and spent time on the process for a role that didn't really exist.
