I applied for an internship with Bosch, here was my experience. My initial interview was near the end of April, and Bosch's recruiter expressed great interest based on this interview. In early May, I had interviews with the hiring staff, who simply claimed they had "other interviews already scheduled" and that they'd get back to me. Around a week or two later I received a call from the initial recruiter trying to decide if I had "other opportunities" while they continued interviewing. To be frank, I was disappointed and felt led on. Despite this, I told the recruiter that I was very interested in the position and would like to hear more. The same excuse was used about "having more interviews" which was disheartening. A week or two later, another indirect call from the recruiter claiming I'd receive an offer by Monday. At this point, I would have been extremely disappointed with Bosch if I didn't get an offer, so I was at least glad for this. On Monday, I was once again called indirectly by the initial recruiter, contracted by Bosch, rather than their HR manager or anyone from inside Bosch, to share the details of the offer. I was offered $20 an hour with no ability to go up from this rate. While I would have been very happy with $20 an hour, I felt very much disappointed, having been seemingly jerked around for the past month or longer. Upon receiving this job offer, I also was told, on that Monday, I would now have to pass a drug test & background check in three days. While this overall seemed entirely fair, I was disappointed neither the recruiter I spoke with nor Bosch had made an effort to convey these portions of the interviewing process to me. Due to Bosch's assumably zero-tolerance policy for cannabis products, I failed the drug test, and my job offer was rescinded. Despite sharing my psychiatric history and recommendation for hemp products given by an outpatient facility, I no longer had an offer I had been waiting on for over a month. I shared with the interviewers that upon learning of a drug test, in the case they tested for cannabis which is legal federally in hemp form, I did cease intake. This made no difference. In the end, I am extremely disappointed in being kept waiting for weeks of interviews; I also am disappointed in never being made aware of the drug test & background check until an offer was extended.
