I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Rivian

      Interview

3 round interviews. 1st with recruiter, 2nd with a tech that will ask you technical questions, then hiring manager. Over all was a good experience and fun at the same time answering technical questions and scenarios

      Field Service Technician Interview

      Mar 4, 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Denver, CO
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Rivian (Denver, CO) in Feb 2024

      Interview

The phone interview was straight forward. The Zoom call with the shop foreman went 45 minutes over because we were talking shop. The in person interview was not that positive. First off, I didn't meet with the manager they said I would meet with, just the assistant and a random tech. The only question the tech had was how did I feel about overtime. I think they are looking for techs that want to work 60+ hours a week trying to fix these cars. I was willing to work some, but I have a family and I'm not getting divorced over a job. I have over 22 years of ultra luxury brand experience and I am EV certified for my current employer. They didn't give me a reason they didn't want to move forward, but I assume it was because I wasn't real excited about the OT. That's fine, I more than likely would not have accepted the job because I assume there would be pressure to work OT. Also, they're not doing so hot on the business front right now.

      Field Service Technician Interview

      May 10, 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience

      Application

      I interviewed at Rivian

      Interview

I had a total of eight interviews. I had to take a day off work so I could have six Zoom interviews with six different people. It seemed a bit excessive given the position. I wasn’t really asked about my abilities, felt more like an extended personality test, which They asked the same silly questions that are supposed to give in-site into your personality, nothing they asked was special or stood out. The last Zoom interview I had was with a field service manager and he seemed like he was in rough shape physically and mentally. You could tell he was overworked, burned out, and stressed to the max. Unfortunately after all eight interviews, I wasn’t offered a position. That being said, based on the company culture and after speaking with the last field manager, I most likely would’ve declined an offer. There seemed to be to many self important people who had an exaggerated opinion of themselves which in turn, had the potential for excessive drama and interoffice politics.
