I was already hesitant to go through with this interview after reading the reviews on here.
It should have been you know, a regular interview. First-round interview was in person. I was 20 minutes early. Interviewer showed up late. Not as in he was working on something upstairs. As in he showed up TO WORK past 9:30 am (when the interview was supposed to start) and just set his bag down next to him in the room. He did not seem prepared AT ALL. Didn’t have a hard copy of my resume on him (and said as much). Didn’t seem to understand what my experience meant. Basically said the proofreader job was busywork.
Said a bunch of red flags: “we’re like a family ... sometimes families are a little dysfunctional,” “because we’re so small, we wear a lot of hats around,” “there was a lot of turnover last year ... because of toxicity and drama”. Interviewer hasn’t even been working there a full year.
Asked me at the end if I was still interested. I’m a terrible liar so I literally said “uhhhhhhh maybe?” And he said they’d prefer “someone chomping at the bit” 0/10 do not recommend. Also you’re out of luck if you have mobility issues bc the guest parking space is -directly- in front of the ramp walkway and the historic inside has uneven stone brick flooring in parts and also outside in the entryway.
