I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Reverb (Chicago, IL) in Sep 2016
Interview
HR Phone Screen, Phone tech screen, In person with a pair of pair programming exercises and meetings with management... And then a low ball offer.
Really it was a gigantic waste of time, unless you're willing to work for $15 to $20K less than market value, with the possibility of a 10% bonus or some stock options... Not to mention no health coverage for 60 days... No thanks. Money isn't everything, but there is nothing special about this place that would drive a quality mobile engineer to give them a discount, unless they're unemployed.
They are located on the near north side (Roscoe Village/Lakeview area). This is super inconvenient for commuting (the brown line stops nearby, but that stop is not on the express schedules), and way too expensive to live on what they pay. They should seriously consider moving to the suburbs or somewhere that can justify the lackluster salaries.
My advice, if you want real talent, offer them real money. Don't waste their time asking them "what is your expected salary range" and then continue on with the process knowing you can't reach it...
I guess there is a reason the job has been on their website since early April...
