The hiring manager was super nice and supportive. They respond to my email quickly, within 3 work days. The interview included introduction of yourself, your background, and then it came with several technical questions.
Initial phone interview with lead. Then an invitation to interview with the team. The studio paid for an overnight hotel stay nearby. Met the team in groups, cool peoples, then we all went out for lunch.
The process was pretty standard of most software engineering positions in the game industry. First was an interview with the hiring manager and then a technical screening. Everyone was very friendly and easy going, however it seems their interviewing skills may be a bit rusty. The tech screening expected some knowledge that is typically not asked about for an entry level job. I was told this might be the case as they haven’t hired anyone in nearly a decade, but it seems they still have very high standards.
