      Scientist Interview

      Apr 10, 2012
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Regeneron in Mar 2012

      Interview

First I received an electronic form to confirm institutions where I obtained the relevant skills. A week later an HR representative contacted me by email to set up a technical telephone interview. At the very start of the interview the same HR person asked me to state my current/past salary. I asked politely if it would be OK not to reveal this information, but was told that the interview cannot continue in such case. So I told her how much I was making. Next question was about my legal status and then I was asked to accept in principle a salary they were offering for this position (if was significantly below my most recent pay). This took me completely by surprise. The interview has not started yet and I am already made negotiate the salary. The HR person insisted that I have to say "yes" or "no" to the particular figure, or the interviewing process stops right there. I have never encountered such hard-ball tactic before on a part of interviewer. After some back and forth I was forced to agree to the figure just so I could proceed to the interview. By then in the back of my mind I was not so certain anymore if I actually want to work there. Then the actual interview started with two hiring managers who took turns in asking specific questions regarding my skills and scientific background. This part went without surprises. I received a rejection email one week after the interview.

      Interview

The interview has multiple steps with an initial interview with HR followed by an interview with your perspective supervisor. Its very fair, and relevant to the position. Just be yourself and you will be okay.

      Interview

HR call followed by HM interview, and a full panel interview with a 1hr presentation. HR said would ask for 5 references if one was selected after the full panel interview. And also were saying something like we value your time and would follow up within 2 weeks or so just to give you updates... I went through the full panel interview months ago. But never heard back since then. I sent an email to HR to follow up, the HR said they would call, but never did. I guess I was not selected, but it was not very professional to just ghost candidates like this.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Regeneron (Cambridge, MA) in Jan 2025

      Interview

First was just a screening call with HR and then a scheduled virtual interview with the hiring manager. Next was an onsite panel interview with a presentation and the final round was an interview with the department’s VP. Overall a good experience, asked fair technical questions and questions about my working style. They tried to make the process quick and easy, which was appreciated, with an official offer sent less than a week after the final interview.
