I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Redwood Software (London, England) in Sep 2024
Interview
Recruiter got in touch. Several rounds plus some online weird assessment. The recruiter was pushy in the beginning and then completely ghosted me which seems to be a pattern given other reviews. No regard at all for candidates time. Company seems slow and bureaucratic, way too many interviews.

Interview
I applied in Nov 2025 and the recruiter screen happened in early December. Post that, my 1st round was a hiring manager round with the Senior Director of Engineering who asked questions mostly around people management and delivery. The feedback was extremely positive and it moved quickly to the next round with the Senior Director and Product Mgr . I was provided a rate limiter code and given time to analyse and point improvements in it over the next conversation. The feedback was positive again and I was moved to the next round of 45mins to meet with the VP of engineering which was mostly values and collaboration based. He mentioned that the recruiter would reach out with next steps. All the process was complete by the beginning of Jan 2026. The recruiter said that should have a decision in 2 weeks. After multiple followups, the recruiter said in mid Feb that they are still finalizing and trying to reach to a decision. Come Mar 2026, I received an email from the recruiter that they hired somebody with more recent SaaS experience and said that we can connect for a feedback call to which I replied yes but nothing. Such a waste of time interviewing with this company

Question 1
Discuss the rate limiter code provided earlier and PM questions around it

Interview
The hiring manager round went smoothly and was positive overall. However, the subsequent psychometric test, which involved comparing figures and other unrelated tasks, seemed disconnected from the role of an Engineering Manager. This step felt unnecessary and not aligned with the job requirements, making the interview process seem somewhat inefficient and misaligned with the position's core responsibilities.
