Redeye (NC) interview questions

Phone screening by HR was very thorough, answered all of my questions. Had 1st interview the same week with direct hiring manager for the position, and one other director of another department. More culture based questions, basic questions such as describe a difficult situation that you overcame, what would you do in the first month on the job to be successful, etc Got invited back for 2nd interview the following week. This was with two new people, the director of the department the position was in, and a director of another department. Very casual, again focused on culture/values/working style, and some technical knowledge. They described the goals and objectives of the position clearly, and I asked about the structure and management style of the department, and felt that was answered honestly and thoroughly. These were all via zoom, as the position is meant to be based in NYC, where I am based, while the manager is in Toronto and the Director is in North Carolina. I sent thank you emails after both interviews, both emails got a courteous response which was surprisingly nice. A week after my 2nd interview I received an email that I was not selected for the position. Overall everyone was kind and thorough, and good communication throughout the process. I came away with a positive impression of the company and people.
