Recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn to setup screening call. Informed that the process was:
1) Screening
2) Take home project
3) Live coding
4) 3x1hr Final Round
Screening: Pretty normal call. Average pay for the role is around 260k USD TC.
Take-home project: Consume a given API and display the list of transactions. This is very open ended to test your product sense. Created a dashboard with the given information, list of transactions with searching/filtering, and a details page.
Live Coding Prep Call with Recruiter: Pretty uninformative. All the information from the emails is regurgitated to you and the recruiter has no idea what the live coding round will be like but they emphasize the need for completion of the task.
Live Coding: 60 minute interview. Task was to develop a 4x4 tic-tac-toe game with undo/reset functionality as a nice-to-have. Focus of the interview was on completion, not UI or clean code. Created the game with bad UI and pretty messy code (but good MVVM architecture) without the nice-to-have functionality and was rejected after this stage.
Overall, the engineers describe a new mobile team that works like a start-up. They also described a pretty middle of the road WLB with maybe a bit more emphasis on it being a bit worse than average.
