The process took 2 days. I interviewed at RTX in Sep 2008
Interview
When I arrived at the site, I obtained a security badge and was escorted by my point of contact into the office.I was interviewed by the site manager and one other senior engineer. The interview was mostly behavioral and very "normal". I find the office rather cold in terms of personal relations. Everyone more or less kept to themselves. My supervisor and co-workers are easy to get along with and are easy going folks.
Overall, the people and the culture was ok but the work itself was what drove me to leave the position, it was really just drone work.
Was introduced as behavioral but was fairly technical. Asked a few technical questions about subjects of your choice. Discussed past experiences from my resume and what I would do in other technical scenarios.
Super easy, hired as a contractor before being as a full time employee. Regular onboarding: tons of paperwork, background checks.
Took about a week to get all details ironed out before being thrown into the deep end. Peers more than willing to help out with the getting up to speed.
Very laid back, more having a conversation about the role and what I would be doing than technical questions. Asked a lot of questions about my experience on my resume and my projects in college.
