I initially interviewed in person, but was told by the headhunter who sent me to the interview that I was too senior for the role they were looking to fill. A couple of months later, I was called by the headhunter who told me the interviewer could not stop thinking about me and wanted to create a position for me, but I had already accepted another offer at that point. But I remained in touch with my interviewer and several years later, when I became available, they made me an offer.
