I had an HR phone screen on 4/28. Went very very well with great feedback and HR told me the hiring manager was going on vacation the next week but that I would hear back the week after. The week after comes along and I email them on 5/9 for an update. HR responds saying the hiring manager just got back and that they are still in the phone screen stage and that i'll hear back this week. The next day (5/10) I get an automated message saying the position has been filled - this does not match up with the HR communication that they were still in the phone screen stage the day before. This indicates to me that the company is disorganized and/or does not communicate well internally. Felt like I wasted my time researching and preparing for the interview.
