      Interview

The interview process was overly lengthy with too many steps, which didn’t seem necessary for the role. A more streamlined approach would better respect candidates’ time and maintain engagement. There is no need for that many interviews.

      Question 1

      Explain how you collaborate cross-functionally.

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Quizlet in Jan 2023

      Interview

The interview process was a bit long but that was because of an internal change and the recruiting team was keeping me updated throughout the whole process so it was not an issue or concern. The process was very smooth and the recruiting team was great at communicating who I'd be meeting with and giving some guidance on what to be prepared for. They also set up quick syncs between interviews to chat through them - which was helpful because I felt I was able to be transparent about how I think I did and what I felt after speaking with the team members. Overall I had met with the recruiter, engineering leads, some of the team I'd work with from ad ops to data science, as well as the CEO.

      Senior Product Manager Interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Quizlet (San Francisco, CA) in Oct 2018

      Interview

Recruiter reached out that company was very interested in me and to schedule a call. After some vetting on the company’s business, I decided to take the call. The recruiter seemed very scripted and one-way, completely disinterested in any answers (which mostly were in over her head as they actually required someone with at least minimal appreciation for technology management; lack of emotion, engagement or even one follow up question on any single answer was a tell tale sign of incomprehension), and worse, could not even provide any meaningful answers to my questions about the organization. She was taken by surprise that seemingly anyone would question THEM. Organization seems weak based on her dodging my questions on the structure and charter. If they can’t figure out what they are doing, you won’t help them. These are roles that are spun up for financial or political reasons (head count), and are often the first ones to collapse and be cut. I’d stay away. A week later, no follow up, just a generic thank you email bot generated letter. What a time waste.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Generic behavioral screening questions about experience. No technical or relevant questions whatsoever. Could be any generic role or company. 0 screening skills.
