Asked what I knew about the company. Interviewer was impressed I knew the founder and when it was founded. The interview was very easy and no prior work experience was needed.
I applied in-person. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Publix (Gainesville, FL) in May 2015
Interview
I applied at my chosen Publix in the store and got called in for an interview a week later. The interview was slightly casual and overall a good experience. They asked fairly simple questions and at the end I was offered a job making $8.50/hr and had to take a drug test.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Q: Why do you want to work for Publix?
Q: What kind of plans do you have for the future?
Q: What do you think the responsibilities of a Front Service Clerk include?
Q: What kind of chores do you do at home, if any?
Q: Why Publix?
Really was easy. Basically the only question asked was why I wanted to work there. I basically just said because I’ve always enjoyed going to Publix growing up and seeing all the employees with a smile made me know it was a good place to work.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Publix (Rolesville, NC) in Apr 2025
Interview
I applied online and I showed up at the job fair in both March to learn about the company and April to actually do my interview. It was for a new store they are opening in Rolesville.
