Interviewed several time while working for the company in another position. You would sit down with one or two managers and answer basic company questions along with normal interview questions. The interviews usually went great! I left feeling good each time but it’s well known that the person chosen for the job is decided way ahead of time. The interviews are held mostly for show and to keep people hoping.
I applied through other source. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Publix (Charleston, SC) in May 2015
Interview
Well i was being promoted, so I went to the store that had the opening, and had a 30 minute interview with the assistant store manager and department manager. It was a typical interview experience with questions and scenarios presented. They asked me a little about my personal life, but mostly focused on my experience related to the position.
I applied in-person. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Publix (Destin, FL) in Mar 2014
Interview
Application, interview/drug test. You apply in store via a kiosk. You can introduce yourself to management, but due to the sheer volume of applications, they will not remember you, and they have little say in hiring anyways. Definitely helps to have someone you know working there for a referral. If you do not hear back within a week, you won't get called. They never actually announce when they are actively hiring. If you really want to work there, just keep applying every 30 days. Eventually you'll get called.
