Rather swift but quite a few rounds of interviews until I was offered the job. Started with an online interview to introduce myself and learn about the role then 2-3 interviews following this.
I applied for a Junior Photographer and Videographer role at Protein Works, had 3 interviews (most of which were rescheduled last minute), waited a long time to hear back, eventually I was told I did really well and they were interested in hiring, after I did some chasing regarding next steps, they said they were no longer hiring for the role. I received no apology or explaination, instead I was offered to return to the office for another interview for a slightly different role (Junior Video Editor). I did not hear back at all after this.
Very disappointed and having been through several application processes last year, this was by far the most unprofessional. I'm still upset by the amount of time I wasted with this application and do not recommend.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Protein Works in Nov 2025
Interview
Reached out to by recruiter and told of job in Speke office, arranged initial chat with technical director.
Was invited to second round, but it was clear from talking to both the recruiter and PW themselves that the recruiter had mis-sold the role. He had said it was strictly 3 days a week in office, according to the company, this was not the case and it was "bare minimum" 3 "initially", with 4+ being the ideal preference.
It's a real shame, because they seem like a great company that just hired a bad recruiter.
The technical director was lovely and gave a really good account of himself and the company. It's a shame that things didn't line up and the recruiter ended up wasting everybody's time.
