Saw the job posting on LinkedIn and applied. Got a phone screen with the recruiter as well as an hour long conversation with the hiring manager. Was told there was only panel interviews + a conversation with the CPO after that. However, when the recruiter scheduled the panel interviews (2.5 hrs) she mentioned there was also a take home component. First time I'd heard about it. Reluctantly, I agreed (despite typically being strongly opposed to take homes.) After the panel and turning in the assessment, I was told I'd hear back in about a week. Sure enough- 6 days later, the recruiter emailed me, but not with next steps. She said they've decided to temporarily close the role and rescope it to make sure it aligns with the org. What a ridiculous statement after many hours were already invested in the process and I basically completed everything except the last round. Very unprofessional and left a bad taste in my mouth about the entire org.
