At first I really liked the company and got great vibes from them, and then no communication. I submitted my resume back in November, and a week later got an email requesting that I drive down to their offices in Northern Virginia. I did so. It was about a 2 hour drive, through traffic, one way, but I was happy to do it. I went through the interview and then completed a short task. There was nothing too surprising. Then they asked that I fill out biometrics and get my fingerprints taken care of. That sounded like a great sign. I left. When I got home, I looked at my email, and the HR coordinator emailed me and said that they would like me to come back down a day later for a second interview. I was excited, because I felt that they really liked my skills, and I had a good chance. I met with the CEO, her husband and one other person. The interview went well and it sounded like I would get the job. They said that they would make a decision within two weeks and let me know. I waited patiently, but I received no emails or phone calls. I finally emailed asking politely for an update and offering any additional information they may need, but I received no email. I have an email tracker and so I know they opened the email. It has now been two months, and I still haven't received any email from them. I find this to be unprofessional. I spent two days, money in gass and over 10 hours of my time applying for this job. Although this does not entitle me to receive the job, I do feel that it entitles me to a courtesy email, or phone call to explain the decision. I am very disappointed with this company and how they treated me in the end. I guess it may be a blessing in disguise, because it showed me the type of organization it is. I wouldn't donate or work for them if they treat people like this.
