      Account Executive Interview

      Jan 15, 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Postscript in Jan 2021

      Interview

After applying online, I was sent an email with a link to a portal for a one way video interview. There were 4 questions. After each question was disclosed, there was no time limit to think about it before recording the answer. The recorded response is limited to 1 minute. They aren't difficult questions. But I've decided this is the last time I'll participate in a one way video interview. If a company is going to keep qualified candidates at arm's length and can't take the time to have a two way conversation like real people, I'm not interested. A few other observation: On their website Careers page, the founder states that they are committed to diversity in age, race, etc. However, the company group photo elsewhere on the website paints a different picture. If you're a 20 something white male with a scruffy beard (nerdy glasses are an optional accessory), you'll fit right in. Just a bunch of zany hipsters having fun at this company !! Also, there is the ongoing fallout of applying to this company and spending time on their website: Their re-targeting ads are stalking me whenever I'm online. Memo to Postscript: I'm not a potential customer. Please go away. For a company whose solution involves targeted marketing, it looks like they can't hit the bullseye.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a detailed review, we appreciate your feedback and will use it to help improve our processes. We hear you on the one way video interview and are having active conversations around this. We do not want our applicants to feel that we are keeping them at arm's length as you expressed. I want to highlight here that for applicants who pass the one way video interview, the rest of the process involves connecting directly with our team, including the Founders at a later stage. We greatly value a strong two-way relationship, while we must also ensure that we can effectively manage the very high volume of applications we receive early on. As for diversity, our People team is hard at work to foster an inclusive workplace for all people. Postscript is an ever-evolving place of equal employment for talented individuals. For example, I am a congenital amputee and mother of 3 homeschooled children - I feel embraced and supported here, both professionally and personally. We have many people who fit the description you shared, and many more who do not. We need to update our photos. :) We wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors and thank you again for providing your review! -Cailee
