Had high hopes for the position I applied for and the company. Initial conversation with HR was very pleasant. However, they cancelled the interview on the day itself. It was supposed to be a physical interview so I was already making my way there. Received the call only around 1 hr before the interview timing to be informed that the interviewer could not make it due to "unforeseen circumstances" and was told it would be rescheduled. After around 1 week, I emailed the HR asking if the interview would still be rescheduled but received no reply. If they are no longer interested to proceed with the application, the least they could do was to just tell me straight up, and not just say the interview would be rescheduled and leave the interviewee hanging?
HR wasted my time in promising that my expected salary is "within their range" just to lowball me after 2 rounds of interview. Of course from the company's perspective they are just trying to save cost but doing this is a massive red flag

Interview
Had a 45minutes initial call with the hiring manager on a saturday afternoon and it was pleasant. Virtual with the hiring manager, another manager and director in the call. It was relatively straightforward and felt like I am just answering their questions on their list. It wasn't really a conversation but to answer them questions. One of the manager looks disinterested from the start and spoke in a condescending tone. --------------------------------------------------------------- I have no idea why must he nitpick on salary during the first interview and being asked to justify my salary, then ask to indicate the lowest i can accept. I also told him that I am working for a rigid traditional company at the moment among other questions but the interviewer likes to add in his own remarks, then say he has a solution to solve things and then grin to himself. Generally it was a pleasant interview but there are some parts where the interviewer felt like he is trying to show off that he is "smart" and look down on interviewee and it made the whole interview unnecessarily long and awkward.

Asked questions like "do you know you had a really good boss? You wont get that from me" "you are asking for $xx salary? *laugh*, how did you come out with this valuation? Can explain?" "Oh ic, but I just want to know how much is the lowest you can accept, just tell me the lowest now" " I am referring to Futu SG here, oh moomoo if you are wondering, in case you cannot comprehend what I am saying" and many more questions.
