Applying through the Teach For America process, I had a great chat with the new principal and we both agreed it felt like a fit. The only thing I wish I had done differently to prepare was think about what questions I'd ask the principal to assess the school's performance, culture, and priorities.
I applied online. I interviewed at Perspectives Charter Schools (Chicago, IL) in Jun 2021
Interview
Have to teach a class with a lesson they provide while the assistant principals and human resource direction look on, it was a math lesson because they want a candidate that is good at math as well as science to complete the STEM requirements. Then, they give a test of how you will evaluate teachers by starting out with a video of a teacher teaching a class. Then, you have to role play like you are the evaluator talking to the teacher.

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Perspectives Charter Schools
Interview
First there was an initial phone screening. I was asked some basic questions about my experience, my favorite book, my preferred salary. When I was moved to the finally interview, I was told about a demo lesson. Interview was good. They were welcoming and kind. It included the Principal and Assistant Principals, HR, and a teacher. Some people were a little late to the interview. They asked some basic questions, and then I went into my 20 minute demo lesson. I received the offer the next morning.
