      Software Engineer Interview

      Feb 3, 2022
      Anonymous employee
      Aachen
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Peopleware (Aachen) in Jan 2022

      Interview

The interview process was very straightforward and clear. After the initial interview with the recruiter, there was a technical interview where my skills and experience was assessed. On successfully passing it, the last stage was a trial day where I was involved in hands-on tasks with the developers at InVision so that we could both understand each other better. There was also a behavioral interview between the technical interviews on the trial day. The overall process was very comfortable.

      Interview

The interview process was very kind and informative from the beginning but never boring or stuck. A recruiter always kind and well informed, willing to help and ASAP. A process with steps well defined and clear. Professional staff open to help and guide at all times. I simply enjoyed it.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Peopleware (Leipzig) in Jul 2021

      Interview

The interview process started with some simple chats, to allow them to get a clear picture of what experience I already have and what I am looking for in the role of an engineer. A trial day followed, which consisted of pairing sessions over the course of a day. These sessions were split between backend and frontend. The backend work was real, i.e. a task that the team was currently working on. The frontend task involved extending their React app to include a new module, followed by a simple Arrays problem. So it was also an opportunity to get hands-on in their codebase and see exactly how tight a ship they run, as well as an opportunity to show off what development processes I practice.
