      Software Engineer Interview

      Interview

Echo what other reviewers have said -- pretty clear lack of professionalism and the company does not seem to have its act together. Interviewed with someone from HR who was very nervous and said it was his first week on the job. Seemed completely unfamiliar with any sort of tech, not sure why he was a part of the screening process at all -- usually the non-technical HR folks I've spoken with have some level of understanding of the domain they're recruiting for and the technologies they're looking for. Find out at the end of the call (completely incidentally) that the job which had been advertised on their site as fully remote, was not actually remote at all, and out of their PA office. Weirdest thing ever was that when I politely told the interviewer that I would not be interested in the job if it was not remote, he still wanted to proceed with the interview, rather aggressively so. Even though I kept on insisting that I was not interested in the position of it was not remote. It was quite difficult to get off the phone with him for whatever reason and to get him to stop going through his interview script. Re-checked it after the call and yup, I hadn't misread it, the job was definitely listed as remote, with "Remote positions considered" and Location: Anywhere on the job description. Not sure why they want to waste their own/other people's time by advertising roles incorrectly....

      Interview

It started with recruiter call, then they schedule phone call coding round and manager call. They are pretty quick in following up, scheduling a next call and communicating about the interview process

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Peloton Interactive in Sep 2024

      Interview

I recently had a second-round interview with Peloton, and unfortunately, it wasn’t a positive experience for me. After a basic phone screen with HR, I was quickly scheduled for an interview with the hiring manager. However, the interview began on a very cold note. The interviewer didn’t introduce himself or ask me to introduce myself, which I found quite unusual. Instead, he jumped straight into asking technical questions, which threw me off completely. I went into the interview feeling prepared, but the abrupt start and lack of a normal introduction made me very anxious. I lost a lot of confidence, and as a result, I found it hard to answer questions that I actually knew. The questions themselves were pretty straightforward, but the overall atmosphere felt tense and judgmental, not like a natural conversation or an engaging interview. Even at the end of the interview, when I tried to ask the interviewer about his role and background, he didn’t respond or make any effort to share. The whole experience felt very impersonal and robotic. It left me feeling discouraged because I believe I could’ve performed much better if the interviewer had made even a minimal effort to break the ice or create a more welcoming environment. In short, while the company seems to move quickly in the hiring process, the interview experience was uncomfortable and didn’t allow me to showcase my abilities in the best light. Hopefully, future candidates have a better experience.
