      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Peak Scientific (Westford, MA) in Mar 2025

      Interview

I went through an extremely frustrating and exhausting interview process over 45 days: 2 phone interviews, 2 virtual interviews (one with the hiring manager and one with HR to review my PAPI 3.1 results- PAPI 3.1 is a personality test) and 1 in-person interview with four people. After a week of silence, I reached out, only to be told they chose another candidate. But, they explored the possibility of hiring us both. Two weeks later, they contacted me again, saying the position had reopened due to unforeseen circumstances and that they were "keeping their fingers crossed" I was still interested. I agreed to return, thinking this would be a final meeting to meet future coworkers. Before leaving, I asked HR about the timeline and was assured the decision wouldn’t take as long as before. Four days later, after I followed up, I was told they decided to pursue candidates with more experience. After everything they put me through, they changed their minds again. This entire process was an exhausting waste of time and energy. It showed a lack of respect for candidates' time and effort. From what I observed, the company seems to be severely understaffed and highlights that they have not conducted layoffs. It appears they expect employees to handle excessive workloads without the necessary support. Future applicants should think carefully and ask hard questions about work-life balance and role expectations before getting too invested.

      Question 1

What didn't they ask? I took a PAPI 3.1 personality test early on, and 2 virtual interviews, 2 in person interviews and 2 phone interviews.

      Interview

The entire process was 45 days! I had 2 phone interviews, 2 virtual interviews, and 1 in person interview with 4 people and an online personality test. After the final interview, it took them 1 week to get back to me. They said they wanted to hire us both, but selected another candidate. 2 weeks later- they wrote to me and said they are hoping that I am still interested in the role, and that could I come back to meet the general manager and a co-worker. I of course said yes, and went back for that meeting. I thought it went well, but had to wait 5 days for a response only to tell me that they want someone with more experience. I am just so depleted from their interview process. What a waste of time and energy.

      Question 1

This is my space to add additional info. They asked me lot of questions, and during the interview I could tell that based on the way they were talking that anyone in this role will be doing more than their fair share of work. There is NO structure around this role. Seems like people there are overworked and understaffed and take on others responsibilities because they don't want to overhire. I dodged a bullet here is all I have to say.
