      Customer Service Representative Interview

      Aug 3, 2014
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Austin, TX
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Partstree.com (Austin, TX) in Aug 2014

      Interview

So i applied at Partstree for the Customer Service Representative Position. After 2 days, I got a email from one of the HR members to schedule a phone interview. Then the next day i was all prepared for my interview...During the phone interview the manager asked me if i looked at their website (I did) then he just asked me about my availability and made sure i could be at work on time everyday, then he briefly described what the job would entail. He told me if i was a good candidate for a in-person interview he would get back to me within 24-48 hours. The next day i got an email from him and it was an ALREADY scheduled interview...it had the time and everything. The interviewer the day before didnt even ASK me when was a good time for me to come into my interview, he just scheduled it....So i had to call him back, only to get a busy signal and the number he called me on wasnt even his personal office number it was the direct number to the company, so i had to go through like 3 different people just for them to transfer me over to who i talked to the day before,so i finally got to rescheduled my interview after about 30 minutes...So i get a confirmation email, and he tells me that i will need to bring my 2 forms of identification and for me to be prepared to stay for an hour and during that time i would have to take a typing test. So the day of my interview im all prepared and even cancelled some things, because my interview was more important, anyways i get to my interview and the door is locked, so im knocking on the window for someone to let me in, no one comes , they just look....So sitting next to me is this phone and it has a number sitting next to it, so i dial the number and this lady answers, i tell her im here for an interview and she says she will be right there to let me in She says someone will be with me shortly. So im greeted by 2 ladies Once im inside, They take me into a room and started asking me questions (they never introduced themselves) They only asked behavioral questions nothing about when i could start, my availability, just a lot of "what if" and "What would you do" questions. They both had a sheet of paper that they were asking me questions on, some were normal some weren't. i answered about 10-15 questions. This whole time im thinking they are going to tell me about the company and tell me more about the job i would be doing, After i answer their last question they get up and hand me a paper application to fill out, so after i filled out the paper application, one of the ladies says im free to go. So by this time im looking confused, i tell her that i was supposed to take a typing test and i would like more information about the job....She said the "Computer software" where you take the test is down, she then continued to say that if chosen for orientation, i would then know in detail about what ill be doing. After hearing that i just shook her hand and thanked her for her time and left....Needless to say i will not be applying to Partstree ever again. The interview process was a whole joke.

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Partstree.com (Austin, TX) in Mar 2012

      Interview

Job listing on Craigslist.com Austin Texas. I responded with a cover letter and resume. Within 48 hours I was contacted by phone and scheduled for a 'phone interview'. The questions were geared toward Customer Service, ie how do you respond to irate customers, tell us what great customer service means to you etc. The telephone interviewer was personable , friendly and easy to talk to. He called me back to let me know they'd like to bring me in for a 1:1 interview. I went in for a one on one and was interviewed by one gal--also very personable and put me at easy right away. The questions were basic interview questions. Tell me about yourself, where do you see yourself in five years, etc.
