Rigid panel interview. Was not interactive. Interviewers were nice and patient. They asked me many questions. I would have liked to have had more conversation and learn about the work.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Oregon Family Support Network in Aug 2011
Interview
First I sent in an application and responses to supplemental questions. Then they called us and setup the interview, group / panel style led by the Executive Director and Training Director with other staff present. They were friendly, but don't cry or get emotional. Be prepared. Many questions have to do with what would you do in a certain scenario, how you would prioritize between two or more tasks, and describing your strengths or weaknesses. Check out the web site with information regarding the history of the family movement, values, mission, and more. Interpersonal skills were important. Family experience was emphasized. It's a fast paced culture. The organization is growing pretty quickly and there is a lot of development still going on. For this role, research peer support.
