Very smooth and efficient process from start to finish (it took about 3 weeks). The main recruiter was very nice and friendly, and set clear expectations for the process and the role at the very first meeting. However, the take home assignment had very unclear instructions.

Question 1
Why this team? Why this type of role specifically?
The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at OpenAI (New York, NY)
Interview
Stages: HM, take-home assessment, ~ 3.5 hours on-site. Everyone I met had an ego and level of superiority over OpenAI. They would ask follow-up questions that are irrelevant to the role, but that is a catch-all type of person. The questions also show me that many of these folks have not worked on a large scaled platform. They're typical tech folks using buzzwords without any actual meaning behind them. They also ask some very politically charged questions. This is a hot company to work for, but at the end of the day, the non-research folks aren't doing anything different than traditional tech but they will act and sound as if they're Christopher Columbus sailing to the new world. I have nothing good to say about the interview process and the company. It is a scene from an episode of Silicon Valley.
