The HR interview round (1st round) was plagued with issues before it even began. 30 minutes before the scheduled call, they emailed requesting a reschedule — which I accommodated. The following day, just 10 minutes before the call, they cancelled again and demanded yet another reschedule — which I accommodated again.
When the interview finally took place, the original interviewer was absent, and a last-minute replacement stepped in to cover. Despite this, we had a pleasant conversation, and she expressed genuine admiration for my PhD. A few days later, I received a rejection with no further explanation.
I found this entire experience deeply unprofessional. A candidate's time deserves respect, and repeated last-minute cancellations followed by a substitute interviewer and a swift rejection signals a serious lack of organisation and consideration on the company's part. This is not the kind of experience that reflects well on an employer. Despite my qualification, no reason except a template-like email were given and sent out, and that's it.
