I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at NoRedInk in Jan 2021
Interview
The process was so long that I probably miss some step already:
- Interview with the director of engineering
- Take home exercise to solve in 2hs
- 3 interviews with engineers to solve problems in real time. I was able to choose the stack and use the web all I wanted. I think this is more to show the way of thinking more than skills.
- Another (longer) interview with director of engineering
- Interview with CEO
- Informal chat with 3 members of the team
They also wanted to get in touch with previous managers or colleague
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at NoRedInk in May 2019
Interview
The most unhealthy and unprofessional interview process you can ever expect.
I had attended 3 rounds, took pto for all the interview to attend .
First was form recruiter for 30 min, then with the director,
then 2 hour coding challenge. If they did not like it they should have just gave feedback right away.
Instead they made me go through another found of interview with the engineer.
After 3 rounds, they said to schedule for full day - 4-5 hours skype interview. which i did want to take after a week, they agreed and just before the interview date,
recruiter send email that they already hired and the position is no longer available.
I advice every one do not spend or waste your time by tempting to remote work opportunity.
They get their task done for free by assigning it to people in the form of interview process.
i highly discourage everyone to not even apply for any position for NoRed Ink, and waste your valuable time because they have a big red in their hiring process.
Thank you for providing your feedback on your interview experience. We are sorry to hear that it was a negative one for you, but the valuable insight on the impression that we left on you will help us do better with future candidates.
Our interview process is reflective of our belief that bringing in the right people is one of the most important keys to our success, and we sometimes need to move quickly when we identify a strong fit to do so. Please be assured though that we very much appreciate the time that candidates invest in our process, and that we will never use any work submitted through the exercises for anything other than a means to evaluate their fit for the position.
We thank you for your interest in working with us and wish you the best of luck in your job search.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at NoRedInk in Feb 2019
Interview
Their process was really clear: an application, a take-home coding task, and then interviews to follow (though I didn't get that far).
The take-home was a 2 hour backend or frontend task. I chose the backend task, which involved implemented a simplified version of some of the core business logic (related to student quizzes).
