I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Nippon Paint (Tsuen Wan) in Apr 2026
Interview
Total 2 rounds.
· Round 1 (HR): Self-introduction in English, Mandarin test, questions about past experience.
· Round 2 (Marketing Head): Self-introduction again, another Mandarin test, discussion of workflow and daily duties.
The interviewer started late beyond the scheduled time. I applied for an Officer role and stated my salary bottom line, also mentioning I wanted a title higher than my previous job. The final offer was below my bottom line and at an Assistant grade - for someone with 3 years of experience. Unacceptable and ridiculous.
I applied through other source. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Nippon Paint (Cleveland, OH) in Apr 2021
Interview
Two Interviewers. One was meticulous in reviewing resume (Plant Operator) and the other (Production Manager) was more into determining a personality fit, but still reviewed resume, just not in as much detail.
I applied through other source. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Nippon Paint (Chicago, IL) in Mar 2024
Interview
NPAA scheduled me for an interview on a Friday morning. That morning I was scheduled to fly to Chicago O'Hare at 5am, then expected to Uber 1.5 hr to the company location in Lansing, IL. Upon my arrival, I was told I was early despite being told to come straight to the company after my flight landed. The interview included a childrens problem solving questionnaire and a brief tour of the facility. After interviewing with several groups of people I was sent on my way back to Chicago O'Hare with no word on reimbursement for the 3 hour round trip Uber. Overall, the interviewers seemed standoffish and repeatedly ask why I thought I was good enough for the company despite NPAA reaching out to me directly to interview. I was offered a position at well below market average for salary, and thus declined the offer.
