I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Nikon in Aug 2023
Interview
Initially, the interview process was great. A recruiter reached out to me, and within a week I had had informal calls and formal interviews with various management within the team I applied for. The hiring manager told me he dropped the other candidate, and would be back in touch about next steps after his vacation the following week. After that conversation, I never heard from the recruiter, or anyone at Nikon, again.
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Nikon (Calgary, AB)
Interview
Recruited by headhunter.
Submission of CV (required tweaking as I wasn't looking at the time).
Interviewed by headhunter.
Phone interview with Regional Manager.
In-person interview with HR and Regional Manager.
I was told I'd move to the next round, was given a date. I never heard from the company again, though I followed up multiple times via phone/email.
Headhunter finally called to tell me someone else was hired.
I feel it's disrespectful after asking me to apply, costing me time and money, to not even email to say they'd changed their minds and moved a different person forward.

Question 1
Questions were very typical behavioural interview questions. This was a number of years ago.
