Very nice, straightforward interview process. I interviewed with my manager and the interview was pleasant and informative. It was a very positive experience that made me more interested in the position.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Nexcelom Bioscience (San Diego, CA) in Sep 2019
Interview
I was phone screened and then asked to come in for a face to face interview.
Some of the engineers were local to San Diego and several others Skyped in.
The engineers that I met with asked great questions, some planned and some ad-hoc. HR was great as well. I took an interest in their product and one of the engineers was kind enough to show me their product in detail. I left feeling good about the interview and was anxious to hear from the recruiter.
The next day I get a call from the recruiter with an offer and I ask him to convey my acceptance. He did so, but called back and ask if I could start a week later. What was I going to say? I agreed to delay my start by a week.
The Thursday before my start date the recruiter called me and said they decided to go with a candidate from the east coast office they interviewed a few days AFTER me.
This means that they asked me to wait a week after making me an offer that was accepted so they could interview someone else on the east coast.
Now I feel sorry for the poor engineers that have to work under that manager.
