      Market Manager Interview

      Jul 11, 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Netcall in Jun 2021

      Interview

Virtual interview due to covid. First interview was a chemistry call with the would-be line manager, this was very pleasant and they asked about experience and tried to understand if I would be a good fit or not. The second and final stage interview was with the CMO, product manager and marketing manager. Here they asked mostly about experience and tried to understand what skills I could bring to the team. There was also a 20 minute presentation which I was asked to prepare on how I would respond to a market challenge. I pulled out of the interview process about 15 minutes after my second stage interview was completed as I didn’t get a good vibe from the interview. When I asked them questions (what would the sales team say about the marketing team, what would you say is your biggest strength and weakness as a marketing team) they gave me mostly negative answers and didn’t paint a good picture of their culture. From the job spec and my first interview I was really eager to land this job, but unfortunately the second interview didn’t quite hit the mark.

Thank you for your feedback from your interview. We take on board positive and negative feedback and always see this as an opportunity. Our colleagues speak very positively about the breadth and depth of our marketing team and our brand presence has grown positively over recent years. It’s unfortunate that you did not hear about that from our team. We like to be transparent in interviews so that potential candidates can identify opportunities for improvement and consider if they want to add value in those areas as continuous improvement is so important to us. Setting realistic candidate expectations in interviews is important to us at Netcall as we believe in being authentic. This allows both parties to make an informed decision on working together and once hired the role better matches the expectations set. Thank you again for your feedback and we wish you well in your career.
