Profile was good and promised growth. Nestle India offers this profile only to elite colleges. In fact, the vacancies on the said position can be as low as 3 across India since attrition is low.
Company visited DTU(DCE), Delhi in Sept'14 for the profile. Package offered was amongst the best for mechanical/electrical across industry. Eligibility was 85+ in 10th & 12th, 70 in Grad. 48 students had applied.
First round was GD of 6-8 minutes in group of 6 and topics like should MBA be banned for engineers, Make in India, 3D printing were asked. So basically, they wanted to check current awareness of a person. 15 made it for the interviews. They chose people who spoke very logical points and gave solutions and good conclusions.
Interviews: HR and Technical Interviewers(Very senior position) were very friendly and made effort to make the candidates comfortable. Due to their personality, there was no reason to be nervous.
Technical Interview- Began with a general introduction of family background. Then it just went down. Offbeat Questions from boilers, RAC were asked. It was a hard interview, though interviewer was very friendly. Hadn't even heard some of the terms that they used despite having good knowledge of Power plant. Many questions didn't focus on concepts, focused on factual data like calorific value of diesel, coal, thermal conductivity in boiler for blowdown etc, which someone with intern in Power Plant might have come across. You wouldn't be expecting them to ask such things though.
However, it could be that they found the required candidate before my interview since people after me had similar experiences and very short interviews, and the guy before me was selected, which meant they did not need to interview further, to save time.
HR interview was just a formality, the technical interviewer had a discussion with the HR when 5-6 student's HR interview was remaining, and he left. So more or less, they had decided whom they wanted and remaining interviews were just formality.
Finally, two were selected, one from EE one from ME.
