One phone interview, relatively informal but it was for a smaller park on the East Coast. I talked mainly with a senior education and interpretation park ranger who was very friendly and clearly looking for more workers at the park. A higher up was also on the call, but only asked one question about any past experience working for the government/national parks.
I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at National Park Service (Hot Springs, SD)
Interview
The interview was very easy and mostly conversational based. Questions were based off previous experience conducting wildlife surveys, using tools, operating ATV/UTVs. There were also questions about previous backcountry work and experience using GIS.

Question 1
I was asked about my FieldMaps and GIS experience.
There was an availability check over email (with some questions), then about a week or two after that, a standard phone interview with the hiring manager. The offer came about a week or so later.

What interpretive topics do you find most interesting? What about this park makes you want to work here?
