I applied online. I interviewed at National Association Of Music Merchants (Carlsbad, CA) in Dec 2023
Interview
The interview process was pretty normal. I had a first interview over the phone and then a zoom call with HR, management, and department head. Everything went great. I was a bit over qualified but willing to work at NAMM because of my passion for music. A few days went by and I called back inquiring about the position. No response. A week later the HR manager called me and simply stated they will not be moving forward with my application because I didn't have a college degree, which they required. My issue is that they knew I didn't have one, it was on my resume, we spoke about it, and they still interviewed me. What a complete waste of time. Since my interview, I've heard terrible things about working here, from drama to sexist, toxic environments. Very old school way of doing business. Looks like I dodged a bullet. :)

Interview
It was a pointless 6 hour process. I should have left after the first hour. The worst part about this is that HR was insistent on knowing more about my personal life than my professional life. Red flag.
