A quick phone call followed by a video chat. The HR person posted an ad saying she needed casual part time work and that it can be done from home. As a single mother, I thought this was a perfect opportunity and because the business is a nanny agency, I assumed they would be the last place in the world to unfairly stereotype a parent looking for work. I am more than qualified for the role but she immediately started making assumptions about my work ethic after I told her I was interested in the role because I was looking for a job that I could do from home. She started beraiting me saying that I would have to close my door all day and treat the job as if I am in their office and pay people to come watch my 9 and 12 year old kids while I work. She also could not provide me with a clear description of what she needed the person to do. She was quite abrasive in her demeanor as well. Is she really surprised that a parent would apply ?? Its a nanny agency and her job posting said its work from home. She then sterotypes a parent during the interview process. By far the most intolerant place I have interviewed with. Judgemental and rude. My sister is allowed to bring her newborn baby into her office! Steer clear of this place if you are a parent looking for work.
