I responded to an ad placed on a job search site and was contacted to take the civil service exam for this position. At the exam, they mentioned that they were short staffed in the county I was applying for so expect the process to move quickly. I got a 100 on the exam and then the next step was a psychological test with some rather strange questions. Next was a face to face interview which was very straight forward, basically just asking about my work experience. About two weeks later, I got a letter in the mail stating I needed to be at x place at x time for A health exam. This was much more extensive than I thought it would be. Vision and hearing test, EKG, blood work, vitals, and went over past medical history with a dr. Two weeks after that, I had to do a fitness type test. Details on that can be found on opwdd website. I was told that I was cleared for employment and would be contacted once a position opened. I waited and waited and after another month I finally got contacted about a position. It was only 20 hrs a week and interfered with my current job so I couldn't accept it. I said I would he interested if anything full time became available. Quite a process to only be offered a part time job.
