I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at NARS Cosmetics (London, England)
Interview
Initially was sent an email asking for an interview and stating a day and a place no talk about what is easier for me. Was also sent a 14 page grooming guideline. Turned up for the interview and receptionist didn’t process that I was there and therefore I was late to the interview say in the lobby waiting for her to process me. The initial interview was very scripted with 2 ladies not just one. One taking notes and one asking in depth questions. Lasted about an hour. Second stage of the interview same thing I got an email stating the time and place and my feedback on the first interview which was that my nails were too London. I turn up for the trade test had 30 mins to do a makeup look, got feedback there and then which was fine and we spoke about the makeup look for the nars boutique which is winged liner and red lip. It isn’t my usual but I was more than happy to go with it. I get an email with feedback a few days later and there are 2 cons to me and about 7-8 cons, over half of which were made up, and seeing as I had my model there as witness she confirms this. Things so Blatant as my hairstyle was lied about along with things my model had said about her style of makeup being taken as I had said it? Also you are not allowed to talk or advise the client about their skin type in case of offending them, but in order to give a full consultation you must! Very unprofessional. They do not care about artistry in the slightest or individuality. Everyone is like a robot in the way they look and sell.
First phone interview with counter manager Then interview (with store manager and counter manager) Then makeup skills test (with area manager and lead artist) Finally Store approval (with store manager where counter is based)

Question 1
Why do you want to work for NARS? What experience do you have?
I applied in-person. I interviewed at NARS Cosmetics
Interview
Quick and easy. Applied via email, had a chat then had to have a trial (makeover)
Quiet day so the staff were watching my every move. Nerve wracking when you’re trying to concentrate on a makeover and being timed and critiqued. Put me off
I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at NARS Cosmetics (London, England) in Apr 2019
Interview
3 interviews including face to face, makeup test and trial shift.
Most ridiculous interview process I've ever been through. Unprofessional and a waste of time. I love Nars as a makeup brand and have used it for years but not so sure after this experience. The process is so long winded, I had 3 interviews all at least 2 weeks apart from each other. When following up I never received a response. I wouldn't mind if I didn't get offered the job but at least give feedback, especially after that many interviews.
