I started as an unpaid intern and eventually came on as a full-time employee. I first called the company regarding any unpaid internship opportunities and got a interview with one of the staff members. I believe the interview had no weight on me getting hired as an intern. The decision was already made when I called them and if I was okay with this position being unpaid.
