      ERS Graduate Interview

      Mar 28, 2016
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Moody's

      Interview

One hour long telephone interview with Human Resources, followed by an assessment day with another half hour interview, this time with members of the team into which I would be hired, and three hours of aptitude tests. Aptitude tests cover only logical, verbal and (very basic) mathematical skills. Fewer than two dozen people attend the assessment days; the attrition rate between the telephone interviews and the assessment day is, apparently, as high as 95%.

      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at Moody's (London, England) in Apr 2015

      Interview

I applied early November 2014 for a Risk Measurement and Modelling graduate position starting in September 2015. They emailed me back in mid February to have the first phone interview. This interview was competency based, so there was no technical question. More than a month later, I was invited to a final stage assessment day which commenced on a first week of April. After I was invited to the Assessment Centre in London which comprised an one hour interview with two senior managers of the RM&M team, three multiple choice tests with numerical, verbal and abstract, and a MD's presentation. There were morning and afternoon sessions in a day, consisting of 11-12 candidates. I attended the afternoon session at 1pm - 6:30pm.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

45 minutes telephone interview (relaxing): - Tell me about your degree - What ERS stands for? - What are Moody's analytics' functions and their focuses - What are differences between Investors Service and Analytics (Moody's subsidiaries) - What is your salary expectation - Tell me about a time when you had to work in a diverse group - Tell me about a time when you had to decide on your objectives - Tell me about a time when you have faced a problem?- I cannot remember exact wording of the question but it relates to problem solving 1 hour face-to-face interview (quite relaxing, not very engaging): - Walk through your resume - What do you know about Moody's - Why are you interested to work for Moody's - What can you bring to Moody's - Questions about your skills and experience from your CV - How do they relate to the role - If you have experience in using the similar software, how can they better than Moody's - Walk through your thesis, dissertation and/or project - Questions about your previous thesis/dissertation/project - There was no technical question during this interview.
