I applied online. I interviewed at Mintel (Kuala Lumpur) in Feb 2026
Interview
I had a first interview on February with a recruiter via video call, which lasted only about 12 minutes. After a brief self-introduction and a short overview of the role, the recruiter asked if I had any questions, and then ended the interview rather abruptly. The interview felt very brief and didn’t provide much opportunity to discuss the role in depth. I think future candidates might benefit from a bit more time and interaction during the initial interview.
Initial screening call which led to a multiple task assessment and after that waas completed they offered an interview. If you get past this interview, you then get an in person interview.

Interview
The coordination and reception could have been better. There was some confusion at arrival, and it took a while before someone was available to direct me to the interview location. The interview itself felt somewhat disorganized. The interviewer mentioned that the meeting format could have been different, which suggested there may have been some internal miscommunication regarding the arrangement.During the discussion, I was questioned about my educational background and career choices in a way that seemed to stray from the actual position I was interviewing for. The interviewer appeared more interested in why I wasn't pursuing other career paths rather than discussing my fit for the role at hand. When I explained my strategic career decisions based on current market conditions, the feedback felt somewhat dismissive rather than constructive. The overall impression was that the interviewer wasn't fully aligned with the hiring needs or the specifics of the position.
