I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Milken Institute (Washington, DC) in Feb 2024
Interview
The process took 6 weeks. Pretty Standard, one with your direct supervisor, then the head of the department and the final one with one of the leadership team. Once you go through 3 rounds of interview and you get a call from the HR team to tell you the final decision. One thing I would note is that your initial reach out was through a person from the actual team that is hiring, you do not get a screening call from a recruiter or third party recruitment companies.

Got completely ghosted after a screening but I didn't care enough to follow-up with them. 1) don't ghosting candidates. send them an email just to let them know they're not moving forward in the process. 2) when it came to the interview, the whole thing felt very off to me. It was apparently a "screening" but it wasn't even with HR, it was with two people who (maybe) were a part of the hiring team but definitely a part of the team that this position is a part of. immediately off the bat, was told that the interview was only going to be 25 min instead of the scheduled 30 because "busy" which okay not a big deal. but i felt rushed in my answers and that tripped me up. then when it came to me asking questions at the very end, I will never forget the moment where I asked something that Milken clearly does in their work, only for one of the interviewers to go "we don't do that but I'll let [the other interviewer] answer." just bizarre from start to finish. never ever not made it passed a screening but this was not a typical screening. and if that was the case, why give a candidate only 25 minutes???

Had a phone screen with someone on the team, instead of HR which was a little out of the ordinary. Then moved on to a Zoom with 2 Managers of the team. Went well, but they completely ghosted me afterwards, until 2.5 months later when I got an "update" saying they had filled the position.
