A panel of three lead engineers asked standard questions regarding engineering competence and work availability. It began with a review of educational background and a few personal questions regarding familiarity with New York City and the New York Metro system in general. The next questions regarded engineering competency and possible work flexibility. Furthermore, given the highly variable nature of work in this position, many of the questions sought to determine if the candidate would be comfortable working in the field at irregular hours. The interview ended with a long segment of fielding questions from the candidate.
